Making Care Complete

The Foundation funds special items needed in treatment at the hospital. Therapeutic equipment like sensory swings, weighted blankets, bicycles, yoga mats and innovative technology to support treatment all contribute to helping patients progress toward health.

The Foundation is grateful for the Stackner Family Foundation’s lead gift toward the Giant Therapeutic Swing, and we are thankful for several additional gifts that helped launch this effort.

Giant Therapeutic Swing Creates Opportunities for Patients with Physical Challenges

One of the unique therapeutic benefits of treatment at Rogers Memorial Hospital is The Ropes and Challenge Course, featuring elements such as balance beams and wires, zip lines, climbing walls, high ropes and more. However, for patients with physical limitations, participation in these activities has been difficult, if not impossible.

The addition of a Giant Therapeutic Swing provides patients, ages four through adult, with the same opportunity as their peers to learn trust, encourage awareness, express feelings, exhibit self-control and make healthy choices – all major goals of the therapeutic process.
