Annual gift drive thrives despite social distancing and COVID

Every year, Jill Hazod hosts a gift drive, giving her a chance to socialize while collecting items for individuals going through treatment at Rogers Behavioral Health. It’s something she and those who know her look forward to. Social distancing could have derailed this annual tradition, but instead, the donations poured in, blowing away her previous years’ collection.

For Hazod, holding the gift drive was especially important this year, she said, recognizing that social isolation because of the pandemic has led to many people struggling with mental health concerns.

“I was concerned with participation this year, but need not have been,” said Hazod. “There were so many of my friends and acquaintances that wanted to give back after a particularly difficult year. Overall, this was my most successful year collecting.”

Thank you for your continued generosity, Jill. We are grateful!
